I offer presentations on the topic of social work with Roma families, including specific topics such as: Position of women within the Roma community and wider society; Virginity and early marriage in Roma community – children’s rights perspective; Collectivism and individualism in Roma migrant families; Digital media in social work with Roma families, etc.
My professional interest in Roma minority has been stretching over ten years. In 2010 I conducted a qualitative study on the topic of “Virginity and Early Marriage in Roma Families from the perspective of children’s Rights” (FU Berlin). For my doctorate, I conducted a quantitative comparative study on autonomy, self-perception and subjective well-being of adolescent Roma migrant women (UNI Bielefeld). Furthermore, I have seven years of experience as a socio-pedagogical family assistant, working mainly with Roma families in Berlin.
